I have a male and female cayuga/pekin mix. Lately my female Lucy is always opening and closing her beak. Is this normal or should I be concerned about something being stuck in her throat? Other than the opening and closing she seems to be acting normal. She's eating and drinking just fine. She's not overly fond of people so i can't really get close to her without totally freaking her out so before i traumatized her with chasing her down and grabbing her, i want to see if it was a normal behavior. She is a year old.

Sorry I'm having a hard time finding where to post a new post in ducks lol. Thank you for directing me...maybe it's not showing up because I'm on my phone. I'll try the desktop version.

Yes, it's hard navigating here! If you go to the duck area there should be a blue button towards the top left of the page that says "Start a New Thread." Click on that.

The desktop version worked:) must be my dolphin browser on my phone not working properly.Thank you!

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. I'm sorry about your duck. I'm a chicken person and don't know much about ducks (although I've had a few), but I have to admit that ducklings are the ultimate in cute. Hopefully, our experts in the duck section can help you out. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your duck.
