Female ducks mounting... A LOT

I have 6 females and this happens, especially with my welsh harlequins, all the time whenever they get in the pond. Even in the winter! I just try to watch them when they're in the water and break it up.

Hey everyone! I know it's been a very long time, but my 5 ducks are doing very well and healthy, and I'm getting 4 or 5 eggs everyday! I have 1 Cayuga, 1 Rouen, 2 Golden 300s, and 1 Khaki Cambell. They're all a delight to have around the yard most of the time, except when they start mounting each other all the time!! IN the last hour, I've had to break them up about 4 times because they keep trying to mount each other in their water container, the middle of the yard, etc. Can I get this to stop in any way?! The one duck underneath looked pretty distressed as she got pushed under into their water container, and I can't keep breaking them up all the time... Suggestions?? Thank you!
hi there, I just found your post, as I was looking for THIS topic on the site. I was just going to ask the same question : I have 4 six months old FEMALE ducks and they are "at it" whenever they get fresh bathwater and recently also "on land", its mostly two of them mounting the other, slightly smaller ones.
I wanted to ask you whether your ducks have "grown out of it" as was suggested on the site? I assume you posted your question a while ago -
As long as they dont hurt each other (they havent) I dont interfere but at times its annoying to see....:-(
PS all are healthy and laying one egg a day and are definetively female (playing males I guess)

We ended up adding a drake into our flock & I was hoping that it would fix the constant mounting, but now the hens just try to mount him ontop of trying it with each other 🙃 I'm sure it doesn't help that he's a tad bit smaller than some of them, he's an Ancona and the others are Black Swedish. I'm thinking everything will settle down calm in the Spring, but who knows, birds are weird lol
