Hi everyone.

My emus, Elvis and Priscilla have been easy keepers for their first year. They get along with potbelly pigs and chickens well and tolerate our dogs. In December of 19 we noticed Elvis had a slight limp. We checked his feet and found nothing and found no swelling on legs or joints. He recovered on his own. In January he was limping again, a little more this time. As you probably know, when they get spooked they run and flail without caution and every time a diesel truck comes on our property they get spooked. Again, we found no injury or swelling. We kept him in his pen for a couple days and he improved a little, but still limped for a couple weeks. In February... again... a bad limp....but he recovered. In March a minor limp that continued into April. We put them in their pen every night, they load easily and have been their since they were a couple months old. The first week of April I found Elvis' eye bleeding when I let them out of their pen in the morning. Priscilla pecked him until it was pretty bad! I separated them and they were miserable and couldn't calm down. I let them back together and woke up to another bloody eye and he is limping again... Btw... she doesn't let anyone near him except me and my son. If the chickens or pigs walk his way she runs them off. He has a normal appetite and continues to walk with a limp, it has improved a little, but still limping most of April... Does anyone have advice or experience with this?
