female keeps following me then lays down in front of me

I have 2 females and 1 male turkey and a month ago the male died. The last couple of weeks the females have been following me around and now when I stop and talk to her she lays down in front of me and just lays there. She doesn't run away and sits there and lets me pet her. What's up? She has never been this friendly before.

It is a submission behavior. With the tom gone they act out submission for you. Ahh! True love.

Mine does the same thing, almost lays on my feet to make sure I see her for about 2 weeks now, she layed her first egg though a few days after she started that.
