I have a Muscovy that hid a nest under a large pine tree and I didn't find it for a while. They started hatching yesterday, first baby out in early morning. A couple more eggs were hatching, I don't know how many are now. I can only get a glimpse of her and see some eggs that haven't started hatching yet. When I candled them it looked like one or two might be a bit behind, few days at least? Very difficult to get to her, but I cut some branches and put food and water under there for her before they started hatching.

My problem now is whether she'll leave the nest before all the eggs hatch, I've had that happen before and had to incubate the other eggs. My incubator is older and not perfect, so not ideal. But I could probably hatch a few if I need to. There's not much room to put food and water for babies under the tree, and when I get close she freaks, ends up stepping on the babies and hatching eggs to attack me. Don't want them to get hurt. Do I try to put baby food and a waterer under there for the babies and hope she keeps hatching? Or try to take the hatched babies so she'll continue to sit until they're all done? Once they're done I have a house I will move them to that is safe and enclosed.

I would just leave her alone but keep an eye on her. If she leaves the other eggs just put them in your incubator and when they hatch and are fluffed put them in with their mom.
