I have 2 female Muscovys, 5 chickens, and a rooster. Whenever my chickens are out of the coop my Muscovys start wagging its tail and will start following them. Is this a way for them to show dominance or are they just happy to see my chickens? All I know is that my chickens aren’t very fond of it

So your Muscovy isn't actually chasing them? I have 3 Muscovy females These girls all have different personalties [but when broody boy can they can be nuts].

My youngest who is 11 yrs would just get an urge to chase the rooster it was quite funny they would run around a large popular tree she never did catch him but she loved the chase. If a chicken get too close it isn't unheard of for a Muscovy to grab a mouth full of feathers. These girls have always been fiesty I think that is why I love the breed so much. My chickens have learned to live with them and just make sure not to get too close. My drake would also grab a mouth full of feathers if a chicken would forget her place in the flock and get too close to him.

It sounds like the muscovies are excited , rather than angry, if they are wagging their tails and going over to the hens.

Some muscovy females are aggressive but many are not and happily co-reside with hens. Muscovy drakes must not live with hens as they might try and mate with them
