so I have a female Turkey who is about a year and half old who has been having issues with her crop for a little while, probably a couple months.
She used to live with my boyfriend so he didn’t really handle the situation due to not knowing what it was, but she recently was brought to live with me at my house because he’s moving. When she came I realized her crop was definitely huge and bulging out and not normal by far. When you’re close to her, her breath smells very foul like vomit, so I’m thinking she has sour crop? But I’m not for sure. When you massage her crop it’s very squishy and you can tell there is a lot of liquid and fluid in there.
We got her to throw up most of what was in her about a week ago, but it’s returned to being big again. I just wanna help her get back to normal. If I can.

I just gave it a read through. I’m thinking it’s sour crop? So I would try what it says for that; for how long would you say? And is that it?
It could well be sour crop. The directions seemed to be good so I would just recommend trying that sites recommendations until she gets better or perhaps @casportpony has better advice..

Okay thanks so much! We can try to give a go unless there’s other ideas? Just wanna help her she’s the hen that’s housed with and living with my male being treated for gapeworm

Crop problems like this can be a bacterial infection, a bacterial and yeast infection, or pendulous crop. Lots of things you can try, but it would be best if you could have testing done on the crop contents to check for bacteria and/or yeast.

Here are some pendulous crop links:

If it were my bird and I could not consult with a vet I would de-worm and start on an antibiotic and an antifungal combo of nystatin and fluconazole.

We are just gonna begin to treat this lovely girl today. She lost her mate, and all my attention was going to him. But now I want to get her better. She’s a lonely girl :/
Where should I begin on her? She’s now alone so she’s technically already isolated for whatever I need to do with her. My mom asked about this stuff? She said it’s for yeast infections. People take it and it’s on this website for birds too. If she has a yeast infection but I don’t know that for sure
