Females Mating Females

Hi Guys

Just a quick question.

on Several Occasions recently and over the years I have seen my females what looks like mating other females and the other females quite happily letting them

Are they just establishing the position in the pecking order or do I have bi-sexual ducks

Why do they do this?

Do you have any drakes with them? That's not uncommon behavior during mating season if you have an all female flock.

My Runners just enjoy themselves with each other. No social hierarchy involved as far as I can see, just laissez les bon temps roulez.

It's fun, so they figure why not. The Ducky Dance can happen with or without males around.

I have a similar problem with my rouen males, after i thought about domination later i relized that it wasent domination but pure mateing . They just mate with each other sometimes and i do fear injury because well you know but, they dont seem to have a huge problem with it.
