I went to Co Op and got Wazine in the chicken section (to do first)

The fenbendazole I got was SAFEGUARD (big tube for horses) (to do a few weeks later)

Is this the correct kind of fenbendazole?

And I believe it's supposed to be 1/4 cc. for bantams and 1/2 cc. for regular sized. Right?

Thanks in advance your answer!

With fenbendazole paste, you'd only give a BB sized dollop to each bird. You can't really measure the paste accurately, but that is the way I do it. That tube is for a 1200 lb horse, remember, but I researched and if you give a bit too much, it shouldn't be a big problem.

Great question. I have one too, if you don't mind.

Is this given orally or on skin?

I used Wazine on my chickens last week, but fenbendazole looks like good stuff from what I'm reading on the web. What do the chicken experts on BYC like to use?

I got my initial worming advice from some pros from this thread written on 8/12 started by gritsar titled Can I worm while they molt? (Found under Emergencies/Dis......)
It should answer most of your questions!

I just went out this morning & used the wazine in the water. I only had to isolate 2 hens & 5 babies (only a couple of weeks old).

I do have one rooster, though, that I'm sure is molting. He is a year old & it is his first time to molt. It will be a few weeks before I use the fenben as a more intense dewormer, so I hope he will be OK.
