Fencing decision help

My FIL is currently using this fencing system for his chicken run. I was there the other day and his brilliant chickens shove their heads straight through the fencing when excited. Well he is dog sitting for me at the end of this week. My dogs are going to be highly fascinated by these new contraptions at his house. I can't afford to buy him hardware cloth (I'm having to get my own for my coop), but I was wondering if we hung this 1" netting on the inside, if you think it will keep their heads in the fence. My dogs are not diggers so I don't think they will try to get to them, but if one runs barking and they shove their heads out, I fear a game of whack-a-chicken might take place.

I have some free time tomorrow to go over and hang it for him, so any speedy replies would be greatly appreciated.

order your hardware cloth on amazon, it's a lot cheaper and will be over the $35 limit to get free shipping. Just a tip for that part of it.

the outside stronger wire would keep the larger predators out, so yeah that will work.

I actually bought this http://www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rit...Green-Multi-Purpose-Fence-GPF4025GR/205439518, framed it with pvc to divide out part of my run to separate the younger chicks from the older ones who were picking on them fiercely.

used on the inside of his dog run, that could work as well.

That's basically what I do in my chick grow out pens. Good way to fill the gaps between the panels. I just use zipties to attach it to the panels.
