Looking for suggestions for type of fencing for a daytime pen. Currently my ducks are free range and come in at night. This would be if we have someone “duck sit” for a day or two. Since my ducks are shy around strangers it would be easier to put them up at night. I would worry about 2” x 4” openings for the head getting caught?

Even during the day there’s still chance at a predator getting at them, especially a stray dog or wondering coyote.

I would suggest hardware cloth.The 1/2in, 19 gauge size.

Or perhaps the welded cattle panel fencing.

Too many critter about to let my ducks free range at all. I have a fenced in coral. 4ft high. Cattle panels. I am going to put hot wire along the bottom and top of fence all the way around. An unused locked stable at night. I`ll let you know how it goes. The more precautions the better.
