What is the cheapest method for fencing chicken yard?

Depends whether you only want to keep the chickens in, or also want to keep predators out. Chicken wire is relatively inexpensive, and has its uses, for example to keep your chickens out of your garden. But it will not stop a dog, raccoon, or much of anything else.
