Hi Y'all.

We recently bought a property that had a breeding pair of meat rabbits that had escaped and have been breeding. They live among the 33 chickens that also came with the land. I am not very knowledgeable about meat rabbit breeds or ages and am looking for some advice here.

I have been putting out live traps and so far have caught 3. One of the breeding pair was killed by a dog and I didn't get a chance to see it after it died. The other one is still hoping around and I haven't caught it yet. There apear to be 3 or 4 ages, so I assume the ones left are from 3 or 4 litters. I caught one of the oldest and 2 of the youngest.

Do you know what breed or age these are?

Also, they have fleas, any ideas of how to getbrid of them naturally (I have bees).

Thanks

I have no idea what breed they are, sorry.
But as far as fleas go, are the bees the only reason you were thinking natural?
Because you could use something like this, https://www.petstock.com.au/product...a-worming-treatment-for-puppies-kittens-2-5kg if you can get it where you live.
It is not natural, but it wouldn't be a concern for the bees, I would think.
(it actually is labeled for use in rabbits, despite it saying kittens and puppies)

Thanks for the feedback. Do y'all have any idea how old they are? I was guessing 3 weeks and 4 months, but again, I am really new to this.

Lol, there are 2 chicken coops and some wire cages that we are using for the rabbits. However, they will need better longterm housing. Although, there is a bit of running amok happening. Lol

I'd guess they're meatie mixes and not a pure of any breed, especially if they were just for meat. Could have Fleishman giant in the background. I think the little one is likely 6-8 weeks, but without knowing breeds, the size could be throwing me off.

The baby looks to be around 5 weeks old
Make sure to separate ASAP if the rabbits are left together they WILL have more babies
Lennon the bunny on YouTube has some videos about catching feral rabbits
You could also try contacting your local rabbit rescue for advice and maybe with traping sterilization and rehoming
