Fermented feed feeder

Pics
Hi Hen, how are you? Just seeing if things are ok, haven't seen you on the quotes board in a bit. Maybe you just busy with spring activity like most of us.

Also in hd a question, have you tried feeding the FF in just the regular bucket style feeders with the pvc pipes facing down?

So have the bator full and will need to build something for chicks after they hatch and such. I liked the video of the chicks using this feeder.

Id be worried it would flow right out. Even with an elbow they overflow. But it's worth a shot with a really thick mix, you never know... Be really neat if it moved slowly and could flow into dishes under the spouts...
Sorry you were sick too. :)

I'm having a little trouble with my little feeder. The feed doesn't move into the elbow. The chickens eat it down as far as they can, and the elbow doesn't refill, I have to go out there and stir the food and push it into the elbow from inside with the stick I use to stir it. I keep thinning it out more and more and it never seems to be thin enough to actually flow into the elbow.

Oh no. I wonder if it's the smaller elbows your using... Is it fermented, and bubbling? The gas should be pushing the feed down if your lids sealed. Getting the feed to right consistency is a bit of a pain, you may just need to keep trying to get that right to suite your feeder.

Yeah, its fermenting, maybe its too cold to ferment fast enough, or cause i keep taking the lid off, or the smaller sized bucket.

I made a full sized one at the same time I made the small one, once the chickens are big enough to use it, I will switch to it and hope it works better.
