Fermented feed??

Hey all BYC folks! I am considering fermenting my own chicken feed. Anyone done this before? I wanna know about. Did you have good luck with it? Did it cut feed cost? Healthy for your chickens? What brand of food ferments best? Any fear of sickening your chickens? I'm curious so Let me know your experience with this or if you would recommend it. Thanks!!

https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/644300/fermenting-feed-for-meat-birds is a pretty comprehensive thread on the subject. I ferment starting at around 5 weeks - many do it from the start, and I do occasionally - sometimes I get lazy and just do it at the 5 week mark.
