FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

.
..

I'll repeat once more: Keep it simple. Just use store-bought poultry feed and water in a adequately sized, unsealed container (food-grade plastic or glass).

That's it.

The birds need a properly balanced ration.
X2 on both counts.
Unless one is an expert in poultry nutrition, adding things to store bought poultry feed will upset an adequate balance of nutrients.

I did that. Thank you though, Leslie. I was not clear on that since I was more excited about learning something. Please excuse my offense.

You've detailed quite a lot of "improvising" in the past few pages. Each post you describe adding something else to the mixture.

Adding oatmeal to chick starter ration ... if you're feeding chicks ... would not be good for chicks.

But they are your chicks, and by all means feed them as you please. But inasmuch as you're here asking for advice, I'm offering you my best advice.

I never said I feed this to my chicks. Please don't assume those things and then state them publicly. This is not the first time and I do not appreciate it one bit. Please be nicer to me.

And I didn't say you were ... I said "IF" you were.

I've put in a lot of time and consideration into reading and answering your questions to the best of my understanding and with the best advice I have. I do this because I care about you and your birds. That is the spirit of this community and this thread.

Yep.  Making things complicated when they could never be more simple to do.  Simple is good.

X50. It almost sounds like there's a bunch of other stuff in there now. Fir chicks, I do starter + water. That's it. If I was feeding chicks, I'd pitch that and start over, honestly. I'd be unsure about appropriate nutritional content; would chalk it up to a learning experience, and start over.
