Quote: Speaking of "bad boys"....I think they are responsible for the teen girls in my flock all coming down with CRD at the same time. The stress wore down their immune systems. And the fact that I bought a Serama chicken that was sick, but the symptoms didn't show up til after 3 weeks, by then I thought I was safe to let her be near the rest of my chickens. Because she is so little and the boys jumped her just the same, I always kept her with the bantams in another coop, but still in the same yard. She began with what I thought was gapeworm and progressed to some respiratory disease that now 7 of my flock have. None of the big girls is affected. I won't cull. I have given them all injections of Tylan 5 for the past two days and have lincomycin-spectinomycin in their water. But I think I am going to have to tube feed 3 of them that aren't eating if I am going to save them. (I realize it could be mycoplasma and I am not hatching my own chicks again. They are fine for egg laying.) Any good advice would be much appreciated. : (
