FERMENTED FEEDS...anyone using them?

FF works nearly the same as water... Over time ( give it a few minutes) in that style feeder it'll start flowing over the lowest point until the top of the feed is level with the lowest point...

This works pretty well but it "dries" out because the water overflows out of the feed... The feed itself though doesn't overflow faster than the birds can eat it, I just have to add water to the mix every few days.

If you would fill it with water, and you would cap it so that no air gets in, it wouldn't flow over. But the problem with fermentation is that it produces gases. So instead of having a vacuum above the substance that fills the container, you actually end up developing a higher pressure than that of the air outside the feeder. So as the gases from the FF build up inside the feeder, they will push out the feed through the smaller opening.
