Ferns for Laying

I have one hen that likes to lay eggs in my neighbors ferns. There are lots of them so I don't really know if she eats them or not. I would like to plant some in our chicken yard so that maybe she will lay there and perhaps some of the others can lay there also. Can anyone confirm that they won't eat them or would I be wasting my effort? Thanks.

We live on a woodland property and have wild ferns growing; our girls don't eat them (thank goodness).

Maybe you wont notice if there are alot of ferns, But YES they do eat ferns. I HAD 3 fern plants in my backyard.
