Fertile eggs?

so this may be a stupid question but here goes... if a duck only lays 1 egg per day and it’s fertile when does she start sitting. Does she wait till there’s a bunch or sit straight away?
I’ve seen breeding and there’s some eggs hidden/half buried but she’s not sitting on them, should I leave them in place?
Thanks in advance, very novice duck owner

Usually they will lay the eggs and not sit on them until they are getting close to having "enough" eggs. Then they start spending more and more time each day, until they finally stay put. (when mine stay on the eggs overnight, I know they are committed) The process keeps her from having a staggered hatch. She instinctively will move them around to get them all on the same schedule.
