I bought some Turkey eggs and as soon as they came in I put them in the bator. They've been in there for 13 days not. I candled and could see a yolk but no veins. The eggs appear to be spotted, not sure if it's blood but it makes it hard to tell. That and I don't have a caldeler. I use a flashlight. Normally just leave eggs not sure about until 3 or 4 days after due date.

Could anybody tell me if what I see is normal at this time in the incubation period? I would just rather toss them than be disappointed again. I have had 64 eggs and so far all i've gotten are 5 chicks. Still have 21 to hatch. I'm almost positive that about 10 of those died already. All but 7 where shipped eggs. 3 of the hatched where from my own flock out of the 7 eggs I put in.

I didn't. After I marked them and logged them in they went in the bator. I wasn't aware they needed another 24 hours. I was told that the hen only lays 1 a day and I was sent 8. There is already a week there of sitting then the shipping time. I wanted to get them in the bator a soon as possible.

I candled again last night and still nothng. I really hate to throw these eggs out. They are about half way through the incubation period and I now there should be something growing in there but all I see is the yolk. In some it appears to either be a little larger yolk or it is broken. Using a flashlight isn't the best way to tell.

I guess I will just try to buy some chicks. The man down the road has turkeys but not the kind I want. I noticed he had a little game hen in his front yard with about 8 chicks followint her behind that looked just like her. It was the cutest thing I saw.

Maybe i'll pay him a visit to see if we can maybe swap somethng. WE gave him about 15 roosters and a rabbit one time. Maybe he will feel generous and just give me a chick.
