How do you know if you have fertile eggs? If you dont see the rooster doing his duty. Will chickens mate durning winter months? What about ducks? Will a chicken hatch duck eggs? How long does it take guinea eggs to hatch? Thanks for any help.

I am by no means an expert but if an egg is fertile (and yes they do do there business in the winter) you should see an area on the yoke that looks like a bulls eye.
If a chicken has gone broody it will hatch out a duck egg. When they egg hatches though I believe I read that you must remove the duckling from the mother hen. Like I said I am no expert but I believe that is what I read.

If you do a search on this sight you will find better answers to your questions than the ones I gave.
