Fertile turkey eggs?

My 3 one year old hen turkeys started laying eggs with no tom (never been with a tom).

As soon as they started I purchased a tom and after about a week they started to mate.

My question is are the eggs being laid fertile soon after mating or do I need to wait after the first clutch are laid before they become fertile?

24-48 hrs. and eggs should be good to go. If you know which eggs are pre-tom you could remove them from nest (leave at least one).

Could take as long as a week, but maybe as little as forty eight hours. I'd start opening them up until you find one with the "bullseye" then saving all the following eggs to hatch.
