Fertile: yes or no?

This is the first time Ive done this so just went by Internet pictures. Tonight I'll do it again with a proper candler instead of a torch

yea they do look further along than 16 days i would have to agree with that but i have had rotten eggs and i could still see through the entire egg as i turned it and the junk (bacteria) moved around the egg. idk what day mine is on i would have to check but i do know lockdown for me is next week and i only have one egg left

I hope they arent all dead :/ she did stay on the eggs for small periods of time before sitting permanently, could this have contributed?

Just candled them again with a proper candler and 2 out of 10 are definitely dead. One died early on and the other was just like you'd buy from a shop but 8 are definitely fertile as veins are visible so quite happy with that!

Well i got 2 but one was a bit off and had off legs and unfortunately it died after a few days but the fierst one grew up big and strong and is now outside happy with the other ducks :)

Good for you! It must be so rewarding hatching and watching the growth of your own ducklings, I can't wait until my girls have little peepers.
