You should collect as many as you want to hatch up to 7 -10 days worth and then set them all at once. If you keep adding eggs on different days they will have different hatch date and that will be not good when it comes time to lockdown your eggs.

Hey, someone else should correct me if I am wrong, but you should set them all at once after you collect about 10. You might want to mark the eggs, write the date they were set, so you can keep an eye on the progress if you have different dates in the bator.

Does this egg look fertile? I pulled it from the incubator after 1 day. Thanks for the help in advance, I am new at hatching. I have had chickens for about a year.

By tomorrow you should be able to see faint veins..right now you might be able to see like a darker spot or ring like on top of the yolk shadow itself. Too early for me to see a whole lot usually. Sometimes I'll see the darkish ring and sometimes I have to wait for day 3 or 4 to see the veins and then you know for sure

Is it fertile? Its like this for all my eggs and I can't tell if its a vein or a blood ring.

Patience grasshopper. All will be revealed in time. Moving them around too much to candle and check can do more harm than good. Just put them in and check in 7 days.
