At what age do Roos begin breeding and become fertile?

My 15 week old roo is trying to mount some of the 15 week old girls and I am wondering when he is fertile because of couple of those girls are laying.

At 15 weeks he is working on getting his technique perfected and hope he can get the girls to stay put for him.
Although the pullets are laying you do not want to try and hatch these first season's eggs as the chicks would be small and may not ever grow to a nice weight or potential. I am sure there is some fertility but just eat these eggs and next spring if you want to hatch any, it would work best for hen, roo and the chicks.

Thanks for the info. I am not planning on hatching anytime soon for sure, I was more concerned with the eggs and the ability to keep them fresh.

BTW I love your signature...as the wife of Retired Green Beret I thank you for that sentiment.
