Fertility in Eggs

Thanks. I have a Brinsea Octagon 40 and use egg cartons with the bottoms cut out, with an automatic turner. Then place them on their sides on day 18. The article was really helpful in regards to shipped eggs. I want to read more about air cells before incubation once I sleep for a bit. :) I read conflicting information about whether or not to turn the eggs the first week on shipped eggs. Thoughts?

I did not turn my eggs for the first 2 days in the bator after letting them rest for 24 - 48 hours upon receipt. Of course, this all depends on how old the eggs are prior to shipping and this is a valid question to ask the shipper as viability drops, obviously, the older the egg. This is also a very good reason to candle the eggs and mark the air cell before putting them in the bator that way you have a really good reference point to go from as incubation progresses.
