hi this is my fist time letting my girls hatch eggs cuz long story short i had to get rid of my rooster because he was attacking me and only me. i looked at the eggs with a flashlight yesterday and saddly only two eggs were fertilized. a couple of minutes ago i checked on the eggs and one fertilized eggs was missing and there was a half of a shell and that was it... a couple of months ago my hens would break eggs and eat the yolk but i got wood eggs and stopped that behavior... i am not sure what to do if i should leave the last fertilzed egg go cuz this is also the SECOND time this has happened (the first was last week) but it should hatch any day now or if i should try to borrow a incubator so it has a better chance on hatching

also the last couple of days i had my rooster i was on a trip for a week and i think sometime in that week the egg was layed so is there any way of telling what exact day it was layed or if it is dead... PLEASE HELP ASAP

If at all possible, isolate the setting hen from the rest of the flock.

OK i will try that but i am working on getting more hens because i now am down to 2 hens including the one on the eggs do u think that the other hen will be ok alone

Sourland has given you good advice. There's really not much more you can do. There is no way you can tell what day the egg was fertilized. The hen that's not setting will be fine if you separate them.
