We recently took in a five month old Cochin cockerel. He is doing very well with my girls and although I haven’t seen him mating with them, I suspect that he is because it looks like we are starting to get fertile eggs. He is such a sweet boy and has already taken charge of his flock. My question is...Is this a fertilized egg or is it just wishful thinking?

It does look like a fertile egg. Although the glare makes it hard to be sure.

Yup, fertile!

Definitely fertile. Mozel tov he’s a man now.
He’s a total gentleman to his ladies right now and he has 8 girls so I’m hoping that’s enough and that he maintains his good demeanor. I’m not sure when he mates with them because he never does it in front of me.
