Fertilized eggs?

So we dont have a rooster but we do have some rouen ducks and a drake. They are all still pretty young (like 22 weeks) so i am assuming if they are laying their eggs would be pretty small. Anyways I cant see through green shells using a candling light and am worried I may have mistaken some of our duck eggs for EE eggs. Are these fertilized?

You can just use a bright flashlight and a darker room to candle an egg.

They don't appear to be fertilized, they seem to be fried.

Yeah, we tried that and genuinely the flashlight isnt strong enough to go through the green eggs we keep getting.

Haha yeah, I noticed the whitish spots on them when I cracked them in the pan and went, oh no! Did I just use our fertilized eggs? Because I couldnt tell if they looked like bullseyes or just dots.

Try a flashlight with more lumens. A couple hundred isn't sufficient. Look for several thousand lumens, like 1200 or more if you can find it. Super bright flashlight, super dark room, and cup your hand around the flashlight and the egg, so the only light is coming out thru the egg. Realistically, you'll only see development after 3 days of incubation, but then it will be obvious. You will see veins and stuff. A fertilized egg looks like a non-fertilized egg until about 3 days after the start of incubation. I could see my green eggs well enough. The dark chocolate eggs were a no-go, but any color green or olive, we could see thru.
