I know this by now but I’m having a hard time believing it… are these fertilized?
Back story… I breed Wheaten Ameraucanas. I acquired an old cock I used to have (7yrs old now) and I really need chicks from this guy. He’s been in the pen for a month now with 11 nice POL pullets. The number will be dwindling again soon. But I see him mount, he’s a gentleman about it, the pullets are squatting for him with no fuss and he does NOT bite and pull on the neck. And his attempts usually end up with him face planting and falling off forward. I’ve rarely seen him successfully have all the right moves and hit his target. I do remember this from his original time with me as a cockerel and I struggled with fertility then. I need his genetics though and I’m preparing to do AI to increase fertility. Ideally I’ll put him back over his daughters next year if he’s still kicking.
