fertle or infertle ???

How can u tell if a egg is fertle or not ? I have one egg and it hasa red/brown dot on the yolk does it mean its fertle ? they just started laying friday. Thhhaaannnnnkkk yyyooouuu

No, Every egg has a tiny white dot on the yolk which if memory serves me correctly is the ovum. A fertile egg will have a ring around that dot appearing as a bull's eye. I believe the brown red dot you are talking about is just what happens to a ruptured blood vessels, I get those fairly often. Here's a good photo from google images to help you out.
