That is weird that some didn't have an air cell. Are you sure it wasn't on the side somewhere? I've never seen one without an air cell at all?

Well I know when sometimes they are shipped and if the po is really rough it gets all shaken up and looses the air cell, like it punctures it. A lot of yours had blood rings making me think it got really cold and maybe the ones in the center had enough insulation to make it. Know what I mean? That is my theory anyway!

I wish I knew for sure. the ones with blood rings also had a dot in them like they TRIED but just could not quite do it.

They probably did get too cold or shook up then. I read on a site that rough handling and colder temps can make them start to develop and quit

I still can't believe there were so many though!!

Yep, I was sad! I hate it when I have to toss eggs. I keep looking at them waiting for a glimmer of life and if it is questionable at all I mark a ? on them and keep going until it is obvious that there is nothing happening.

Yes, I am putting an EXTRA ? on the top of the egg if they are questionable, yours are marked on the side of the egg where you wrote the kind they were. I hope your frazzle ones make, I wanna see what they look like!

Fudgie I have a ? for you... how do you keep track of who sent what and what breeds with that many eggs? I cant keep track of even 3 possible kind in my bator? I would be going bonkers..lol

It has State, Screen name and name, kind of eggs, date sent, date recvd, # received, # DOA/broken, box condition, # set, Date set #days to incubate(since I have ducks and chicks and quail) expected Candling date, #eggs died, #eggs hatched. I just update it as things happen. Otherwise i would be a complete drooling basket case!

Also, I put a paper with set date and hatch date on each of the racks I use. DH likes to move things on me and mess up my confusion!
