Actually Leto's eggs will either be gold or BBReds. The rooster is BBRed and Leto is Gold, there have been a few Solid White out of that cross too.

Leto's chick looks just like Wilma's chick! So that is interesting. Well it might be a little darker on the stripes, the white part is a little darker so maybe golden cool!

Yeah, they do look similar when hatched, you won't be able to tell until they start to feather.
If it was all white it wouldn't have the chipmunk stripes.

You don't know the half of it! The FFA instructor said today that EVERY class (except the one doing the project) got to actually see a chicken HATCH out of the shell. THAT is sooo COOL! They still have quite a few left to hatch out in there and the 10 that had a few more days on them. So hopefully they will see them hatch.

The chickies weighed in at 2 lbs 3 ounces and the box was 8 1/2" wide by 13" long by 8" tall. (Hee hee had to give the baby stats you know!)

.We took pictures today when I sent off Teach97's chicks at the Post office. They are just as excited as we are to be doing this. They have never shipped live birds from this post office. The post office has received chicks but has not shipped from their post office. So that was a learning experience for them too.
