Well 7 little chickies just went to their new home to an FFA'er tonight. We checked them for cockrell vs pullett and I think she got pullets. Anyway, there ya go. Heading to the game!
Thanks for the update. If it hatched showgirl, then it would be easy to see with the black naked neck, so you probly have a silkie. Here is what a showgirl baby looks like, this one will feather out white. Can you let me know sometime when you get it all figured out (I know this project is mind boggling for you) if any of the OEGB eggs hatched, my chicken friend who donated them has asked about them. Thanks - Lisa
Edit: if any did and you do not know what they are, post pics and I can identify them for you.
Yep it is just a silkie. I thought it should be naked on the neck if it was a showgirl. DARN!!! I wanted one of them! Oh well, saves me from having to have yet another pen to separate out the varieties! LOL
I think one of the OEGB did hatch the other ones that he sent did not. Most of yours did well till day 14 then we had some losses then on day 18 when we moved them to the hatchers, that was when it went south. I am thinking the next hatches, will be left in the big incubator and we will only turn and not move till all have hatched THEN move them. URGH!
We sure learn the hard way what to do and what NOT to do! It has definately been a learning experience
