At the top of my coop I have these ridges. They have about 2x2 square openings at the top. I was wondering if I should close them in where they enter the coop or could I leave them open for ventilation? There is no good way to put hardware cloth over them so I would have to block then off completely if necessary. I have a plan to do it, just wanted some input from those with more experience. Thanks!

I went and looked at those earlier, they are about half the size I need. I bough some foam that will fit in the holes and I have a plan to deploy it, just trying to determine if it is completely necessary.
The maker of the roofing should have a product that fits.
Rodents would easily fit thru a 2x2" opening.

How tall is your coop, it looks very short?

Ventilation could be an issue depending on your climate.
Where in this world are you located?
Climate, and time of year, is almost always a factor.
Please add your general geographical location to your profile.
It's easy to do, and then it's always there!

Can you put hardware cloth over the roof framing before you attach the panels? That's what I did. Then you're able to keep ventilation, angle roof and also have predator protection.
