Fibromyalgia

very true Ewesheep,

It made a huge difference. I think I have injured my middle toe, and along with the constant problem with the ball of my foot, it was driving me crazy. Hot water with Epsom Salts has really made a difference.

Have actually managed to get some things done today.

Thanks to you all.

Jena.

I have arthritis in my neck and I have had ulcers in the past. Anti inflamatories orally are not an option. My doc had me try a patch that is about 3 inches by 6 inches. It needs to be changed every 12 hour. It's called a flector patch. I get alot of relief both in my neck and low back.

I also have had my thyroid removed and believe alot of this is interrelated. I will be seeing a rhuematoligist soon.

I have a friend that has ostioarthritis in both knees. She has had 2 surgeries. She is only in early 40's and has braces on both knees. She can hardly walk. Has a doc that does home visits as she cannot drive. I feel so bad for her as she has soooo much pain and is on heavy pain killers.

Hi Lori,

I agree with you. I also have arthritis in my neck. I am amazed at how many symptoms we all share. From my days nursing I know about thee patches you have they are very good for pain.

I take a tablet called Zapain, and I have to be very careful with Ibuprofen, as I had ulcers in the past. I had an endoscopy and they found gastric and deuodenal ulcers, but it was linked to a bacteria, so I had treatment and have had no problems since. Touch wood.

I noted in an earlier post about thyroid problems, as my son has Marfan's Syndrome, but these are things that don;t seem to be included in the info on Fibromyalgia over here.

It has been so good to hear about all of you and the things you are dealing with.

Many thanks for sharing.

Jena.

I have studied the more holistic approach of medicine for 15 years. I currently take Chaga. It completely got rid of my tendonitus/carparal tunnel. I have several friends that have had many different types of symptoms disappear after including it in their daily diet. Here's a link to a website. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it. If not let me know and I'll delete it.

Keep the Epson on hand... next time.. try some witch hazel in a watered down rub (mix equal parts water to witch hazel) for those muscles that get that "burning" feeling, too! Try soaking in an entire BATH full of Epson for a bit too... ahhhhhh.....

Well after looking through all my lab results today, everything looked well, sortove. Potassium..critical high (aaahh, what is that one about ugh I just started on these new blood pressure meds and have not touched foods high in potassium, time to look a little closer at diet). Too high can cause trouble too. Magnesium, thyroid, liver, cholesterol all good. Just waiting on the cancer markers and the results of all the scans to come back.

A day of testing, laying on cold hard tables will wear you out (shhhh I took a nap). So far the dye hasn't made me too terribly ill. So I can still play supermom this afternoon lol.

Epsom is your friend.
DH discovered it last night AFTER someone at work told him to use it. Now I have told that man for years to use it do you think he would listen to me? Nope. And now I have to go out and buy more because he used it all. I make my own bath salts, scrubs, oils, linamints and soaks for myself and the kids(DS included). They love a spa bath or spa day as much we do and sometimes they need it as much as we do. Throw a manicure or pedicure in there and everybody feels so nice afterwards, and feels better too.

Weleda Arnica Massage Oil is our bestest friend, lol. I use it after a shower, all over and the smell and feeling is relaxed. It a plant that helps to relieve pain, bruises, sprains - I use it after IV treatments, it takes the discomfort away from that area. Also DH has major sinus issues, or a cold (not for this) but I put it on his face, head (crew cut), back, chest and he does get over these issues quicker.

I am having a trying day, we went from comfortable warm to single numbers and that kills me. I just wish I could have the energy to get things done, finished without having to wait for someone. I thought I had the garage cleared enough for the turkey pen, and seems like everyone wants to change my plans. I want simple, I have a floor, but DH says its not good enough. Grrrr. Frustrating. DM thinks it should be over there, ugh! I wish that I could have gotten that finished, but I am exhausted beyond belief and I hurt.
