field shelters ?

can you place field shelters out and what will they look like. i was thinking covered like slightly taller than a chickenz for areal attacks. but in the wild how do these critters take shelter. i know they used to take to trees.. any help will be appreciated

I remember reading on here some people use 2 wooden pallets and set them up into an "A" frame, so the chickens can run under them if they spot an arial predator. I would assume you would do the same thing with branches, etc (Lean-to or A frame design)

mayby i can train a sheltie to heard them to shelter... any luck so far? our old wormireanian use to heard us back away from the road when we were like 2-3
