Fighting chicks

So the chicks are 6 weeks and we added them to the big coop...tonight two of them were fighting, and they have tiny little bits of blood on them.

Is this normal sibling fighting and is actually teaching them stuff.

Alice the Mum just stood there and watched...Stella (an Aunt) gave one a peck and they stopped...ha!

I'd keep an eye on things. The bits of blood can encourage more pecking or attacking, and you may have to separate an injured one til the blood isn't visible. But yes, it's probably normal working out of the pecking order. Many people swear by BluKote to mask any bits of blood from the others.

I'll have to get some. A friend said she saw on tv that years ago they put little colored glasses on chickens and then they could not see the blood.

They seem fine this morning.
