We have 3 BO, 3 Ameracauna, and 3 BR in a brooder in our dining room. They are all roughly 2 weeks old. They are starting to peck and fight each other. Is this normal? Are they establishing a pecking order? The last time we had chicks, they were in the coop with mom,so I didn't really see them very often, only once or twice a day.

they might be establishing their pecking order. Do they have plenty of room so they won't get bored and peck each other? Have you tried taking them outside for a couple of minutes to get some freedom?

my chicks do that too. not real bad but some chest bumping and pecking goes on. nothing so bad it concerns me. I believe they are establishing the pecking order. myou chicks are now 6 weeks old. i know mine are female from DNA. so unless it is violent or blood is drawn it should be fine.
