Fighting drakes

my khaki campbells are seem to think they are in a fight club. one has an injured eye now and they have been at it for two days. i do not have ducks so the drakes are trying to tear each others throats out (or eyes). really hate to get rid of them and i think they'll freeze at night if i separate them. should have definitely researched ducks a little more thoroughly.

Do they have a house? I use plastic garden net to separate my drakes in their house, when necessary.

yes. but they are not separated. they are out most of the day and usually will squabble a little but these past two days seem to be non-stop neck biting and the injured eye. you think i should try to separate them at night at least?

Anytime there’s continued fighting, I separate them. I use little fences they can see each other through, so they don’t get lonely. If there’s damage occurring like you’re describing, I’d separate immediately.
First year, I had 2 pekin drakes. They fought, so they were separated. Got 2 hatchmate runner drakes in Fall, everyone was happy until spring. Separated pekins from runners, because otherwise they’d fight. Neither group would fight among themselves, unless, they were locked inside and could not see the other “team”, so I just let them stay out in their secure run at night.
I added a call drake to this group, so I’m waiting to see how this has changed the flock dynamic.
At this point I think he’ll be on team pekin, because they seem to tolerate him better than the runners do.
Drakes are weird!
