Ok. You know those big chainlink dog kennel panels? They have six of them put together which I believe is 24 ft long by 12 ft wide. They have a coop in there that is optional for them to go into. And then they have a tunnel coming out of the kennel which goes across the yard to a large fenced area under a tree. I don't know the exact measurements under the tree. It's an apple tree, and a pretty big one. It's growing off the edge of a hill so it's more horizontal than vertical. Once you're under the tree the leaves all hang over leaving you a protected spot. People have room to stand all the way up and walk around. So they have that whole underneath spot, plus a lot of them spend time climbing in the tree. I'd say the tree area is bigger than their main pen area, if it's not the same size. They had the ability to choose where to be all day (in the tree, under the tree, in the coop, or in the pen) and usually went back and forth. But since they've been scrapping we had to fence off the tunnel so we keep some in the tree area and some in the pen during the day. This is only to desperate some of them, so they started scrapping when they had more room than they do now. So no, I don't know the exact measurements but compared to a lot of setups I've seen, I can look at it and say they have plenty of room to move around, run around, and climb and roost in a tree if they want to.
