I need help in finding a solution with two of my four roosters. Two are fighting and I think one will kill the other if they are kept together. They were both a bloody mess the other day, I seperated them for a few days then put them back together overnight but they were right back at it when daylight broke. Unfortunately, when I got them, I didn't think either was a rooster, they were both supposed to be hens. Gracie actually raised Norman and his sisters, then a few months later Gracie crowed. What can I do? Neither have spurs, they seem to be cclawing each other with their toenails. Can one be neutered, declawed? I can't put them in a pot and I don't want to keep them seperated, I only have one coop.

I have four roosters, three guinea hens and 13 hens. I am getting another dozen pullet chicks soon but they won't mature for a while.
I'm thinking of getting another 12 or so hens to make the roosters happy. Any thoughts?

Roosters need a lot of room if they are going to share quarters. Make sure to let each rooster have his own space, water and food areas. They also need hens to keep them happy.

But space space and more space is the only way.

am having same problem, 3 roosters 5 hens, two of the roosters are wicked fierce and fighting, not to the blood stage. but trying to keep from that. i have a run for the chickens that is about 19' by 30' and is about 4 foot tall and inclines to around 8' tall. i thought plenty of room for the 8 chickens i have. we also thought one rooster and rest hens but turned out the chickens werent sed properly. well it is so bad that the smallest rooster and hens will stay inside to coop as the two run out in the morning (when i let them out) and have at it. it seems the blonde/larger rooster (Booster the Rooster) is winning most of the battles while the other black and white (Clyde) is running for his life. the only thing i can think that would stimulate the battle is that Booster lets out a1/2 cocked (literally) crowing sound. while Clyde is the loudest and most piercing of the crows let out (of coarse "crows" meaning the cock-a-doo-dull-doo) i have posted the attempt from Booster here. he still struggles for the full out call.

Oddly we have added another Roo ton the mix, we have 23 total with 3 Roos . they have seemed to find their pecking order. The only fighting is when Clyde or Cornelous is mounting a favorite hen of Boosters. He doesn't seem to mind the others getting it on.
