My two BB Whites are starting to fight. They are pushing each other around , peckng each other and latching onto the others neck / gullet. Is this normal and will / may anyone get hurt. These two have been together since birth and have always gotten along just great. They are only 8 weeks old , are they just playing ? They seem rather serious. nh

I separated them last night for a few hours before locking them up together for the night. They seem to be getting along just fine. I guess my question is should I just let them fight it out and get it done and over with & decide who the BIG Turkey is. I should add that these are my only two birds and they have plenty of room. Also , yesterday was VERY HOT. In NH that means above 90. Maybe they were just hot & ornery.

I agree, they are just being turkeys. I have seen ours fight all day long before, mostly the Beltsvilles. Sometimes they are red from the shoulders up with blood but, they have never done any serious damage and once they sort it out they quit.

Thank you both for your responses. I was hoping that would be what was going on and now I feel better about leaving them home alone ( under the watchful eye of the beagle ). nh

My 2 Black Spanish Turkeys fight now and then and they have been together since babies. I just let them and get out of the way because they are not going to stop until they decide they're done!

However, sometimes Popcorn decides he's had enough and then runs behind my legs...Ruffles doesn't try to attack me but he still wants a piece of Popcorn (I guess that sounds funny!) so again I try to get the heck out of the way - which sometimes is easier said than done!!
