The grand dame of my flock -- which started with four hens and now numbers 19 of various breeds -- is a Buff Orpington. She is lovely with people, a beautiful honey-colored pile of feathers, keeps the others in check and has NEVER gone broody. One smart cookie, she has also taught several of the others that chickens who walk up the deck and peck on the glass door with receive grapes as treats.

Hope your chicks are all great egg-laying girls. Welcome!
