This is what I do...esp for other people eggs...how you do your own is up to you, but if you are shipping eggs and only give the % of what was fertile that is kinda misleading esp if they are buying them. I know no one can promise fertility, but any other way with out including you non fertile in your rate is false. Just my opinion. I gave some one 7 eggs...1 was not fertile, 1 quit and the other 5 hatched. So if I do not include the non-fertile her hatch rate is 80%, when in reality it is closer to 66%. Maybe I am wrong...who knows?
Not trying to be snippy, but I think there is a big difference here, and that difference is: Hatch Rate vs Fertility Rate. This thread is about hatch rates.
If you want to calculate the fertility rates then I agree, you should include the ones that were not fertile. However, if you are simply trying to figure the hatch rate, then you have no need to be counting the non -fertilized eggs.
I agree that is true...I personally would want to know someone's fertility rate, if I were going to buy eggs. So I think which ever way you do it is great. I would have both figured if it was me...
And you are not snippy...
