When can I expect my Buff Orpingtons to start filling out?? They were hatched in March. Cockerels arent crowing, and hens haven't begun laying. Im wanting to cull off some of my roos (11 roos, 6 hens) but Im wanting to keep the best ones.

They won't get their full, glorious bulk until they're a bit over a year old. But feathering out should be right around 8 weeks or so. They're kinda slow to mature, so don't expect eggs until at least 24 weeks.

Thanks for your quick reply!! I cant wait until they are big fluffy things!

My Buffy is not quite 10 months old. She went broody in June and hatched a single chick on June 26th. Here she is with my first GrandChick.
