My goodness, you all were busy here last night. lol I don't want this to keep going off topic, so I will say Lester is not for sale. As with all breeding programs, culls must occur for many reasons. Lester will stay here until the girls are rehomed early next week. While Lester has visual appeal, he lacks the good nature of an Orpington. In my effort to breed towards standard, I select for personality as part of my requirement - I always have with my Orps, as that is an important factor of the breed. Many of his sons and grandsons have taken on the mother's nice personalities and I have selected for that, as well as body conformation and color. There are some amazing offspring to continue our work and we plan to breed black orps in again to diversify the genetic makeup of our lavender line. Please keep in mind the lavenders are not going away, the work just continues towards perfecting them.
Current high bid is mouton with $135.
I am increasing the egg count to 12+ for this auction (based on current egg laying, which I expect to continue). Have fun bidding!
