OK, so we've had our hens now for 5 weeks (they were said to be 4-5 months when we bought them) and after losing three to a respiratory illness, nursing one back from said illness and treating all with Tylan we FINALLY got our first egg today. It was outside of the coop, on the ground and was soft shelled. Attached to it was a smaller, malformed thing (technical word, I know) that was soft shelled as well but, literally attached to the other larger egg. Any help on what this might be? We are offering oyster shells but our girls seem to just poop in that bowl so we will try mixing it with food. They are getting laying food with 16% protein. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
