Finally building a real coop

Excellent Coop. I really wanted to do what you did with the walls and build them flat and then just raise them up but it just didn't work out that way. It makes it so much easier to keep square and nailing the studs and also hanging the exterior paneling.

When was your BC surgery and treatments?

It all started just before Christmas and ended in March.

What home building program did you use? Was it easy to learn? It looked fun!

I used Punch! Professional Home Design Platinum. I did not like that it would not do a slant roof, or I just did not know how to do it? This one I have had for years laying around. It was very easy to use. It also will not let you place windows/door etc..if they can not be physically built in that location. I have also used a program by Expert but I could not find it, so I used the one I had on had.

I just went to the local Hardware store (Geddings) and ordered my lumber to put walls in and start the porch skid. The chickens are already hanging out in front of it in the fenced yard. Now they have the shade of the willow in front of it and the evening shade from the cabin. Cut chicken entrances yesterday and designing the door panels...can't be something plain after all this work. Put down the remnants of vinyl on the floor yesterday also.

I am always glad to hear that other women/girls are out there doing it themselves!​
